'Poison' is a very a mysterious story by Roald Dahl. This story is a little boring too as it stretches some parts very much but the story also tells us about the presence of mind of Dr.Ganderbai. I think that he was really intelligent because when no 'krait' was found he told the narrator to send Harry Pope to a holiday. This shows that maybe because of some stress or pressure Harry must have been imagining a snake or he must have been so involved in the book he was reading that he imagined a snake out of nowhere. There is also one possibility that there must have been a real snake but went away after sometime. So, this story leaves us in a dilemma that if there was a real snake or not.
As per my opinion I would advise to read this book because despite its disappointing ending it is a humorous and mysterious book. It is possible that the reader can guess the ending of the story because in my case i did guess the ending. So overall its a light short story which will engage the reader to read the book maybe because of its plot or the characters or even because of the mystery involved in it.

i agree with you when you say that dr ganderbai was a very intelligent and calm man.But i disagree on the ending. In my opinion the ending was not disappointing bur rather confusing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you that the ending was confusing but i think it was more disappointing as many of us were expecting a snake to turn out but at the last moment the story left us in a dilemma!
